    Spring Show Call to Action!!!

San Antonio Dressage I & II

    March 29-30, 2025

Our Spring Show is the primary fundraiser for Alamo Dressage!  If we do not earn money on our show, we will be unable to offer discounted educational events to our members, or support ongoing expenses in the long run.  Please support us by supporting our show!   If every member could support our show in one way, we would be grateful!

How, you ask?  You can support our show in many ways outlined below!

    1. Enter as a competitor:  Here are some reasons to enter our show! To enter visit Showsecretary.com!

    • Location, location, location: While it may be tempting to take the 3 hour journey to show at the Great Southwest Equestrian center, with it's amazing footing, it does not support your local dressage club.  Save money on mileage, hotel, and stress of transporting your horse. What we lack vs. the GSWEC, we make up for in fun and PRIZE MONEY.
    • Opportunity Classes: Think you and your horse are not quite ready to show in a recognized show?  Think again!  You can still enter Opportunity classes - this gives you the recognized show experience without having to join USEF or USDF.  We even offer Eventing test Opportunity classes for our local eventers!
    • Awards, awards, and more awards:  Not only are our ribbons longer than most shows (15" streamers vs. 12"), we give out great awards and have an award for just about every horse and rider including the Rebecca Snell Freestyle Medal. See our prize list for all the great awards we offer!
    • NEW! Instructor/Trainer Award!  For the instructor/trainer who brings the most students to the show! Win a great prize!
    • Money, money, money!  How many dressage shows do you know of that have prize money?  Not many, but we do!
    • NEW! $150 in Adult and Junior Equitation rider prize money sponsored by Bluebonnet Feeds!  Special thanks to Lindsay Burer, Nutrition Consultant with Bluebonnet.
    • BACK by popular demand! This is not in our prize list yet, but Cavender Cares has renewed their sponsorship including:
      • $500 in Freestyle Prize Money
      • $1,500 in more prize money for Amateur riders riding Second through Intermediate levels
    2. Run an Ad in our Beautiful Program:  Unlike most local shows, we produce a beautiful full-color program compliments of Shweiki Media - thanks to member Kathy LubianskiClick here to see our latest program! Simply running an ad will help our bottom line!  Thank your trainer, congratulate a rider, show love of your horse, or advertise your business.  Ask your local vet, farrier, favorite restaurant, dry cleaner, etc.. to run an ad as well.  Every ad counts!  Click here to see our pricing.

    3. Be a Show Sponsor:  For as little as $200 you can be an official show sponsor! We have several levels of sponsorship that come with a free ad in the show program, show announcements, banner in the main arena (provided by the sponsor), and recognition on our website (NEW!). Click here to see sponsor opportunities!

    4. Sponsor a Class: For as little as $55 you can sponsor the class of your choice and be recognized in our show program.  Sponsor your own class, a friend's class, or your children's class. Click here to sponsor a class!

    5. Be a Pet or Baby Sponsor: Who doesn't love seeing pictures of pets and babies?  We certainly do! For as little as $30 you can feature your pet or baby in our program! Click here to become a Pet or Baby Sponsor!

    6. Donate to our Silent Auction or create a Barn Basket! Donate a new item or service (think riding lessons, gift certificates) to our silent auction during the show.  Show your "barn pride" by donating a Barn Basket.  The Barn Basket that brings in the most money wins a free tack stall at the 2026 show for their barn!  Contact Claire Oxley at 210-426-7749 if you can donate an item or Barn Basket.

    7. Be a Volunteer:  Want to have some fun, see old friends and make new ones? We are looking for volunteers for our annual spring show!  We cannot run a show without wonderful volunteers!  Positions include Scribes, Ring Stewards, Runners, Arena set-up/tear down, and more!  If you would like to help, contact us!  Kids ages 7 and up can help too!  Volunteer hours count for year-end awards and Cash Back for Education!  Not sure what you want to do?  Attend our Show Volunteering 101 Event on February 26! Contact Show Manager, Carolyn VandenBerg at 210-215-2423 .  No experience necessary for most positions!

The Alamo Dressage Summer Social and Used Tack Sale Extravaganza is less than 2 weeks away! The sale will be incredible with close to 500 quality items! WOW! Additionally, Iron Horse Trading Company will be there with a trailer full of equestrian-inspired goods! Think about buying those Christmas gifts. Susan McGinnis will bring her saddle-fitting expertise and a trailer full of saddles and other tack.

IN LIGHT OF THE EXTRAORDINARY HEAT WE ARE EXPERIENCING, THE EVENT HAS BEEN RELOCATED TO THE HAMPTON INN IN BULVERDE AT 499 SINGING OAKS, SPRING BRANCH, TX 78070. We will have a spacious, AIR CONDITIONED banquet room to house all the tack items and tables for dining and catching up with friends.

The Social will provide a delicious BBQ lunch served buffet-style. Water and sodas will be provided. We ask that you bring a side dish or dessert with a serving utensil. Alcoholic beverages will not be allowed due to TABC rules.

What are you waiting for??? What could be more fun than shopping, eating, and talking about horses? Register today on the Alamo Dressage Association website! A good headcount will help us know how much BBQ to order and how many dining tables we need.

Bring your appetite and cash, checkbook, or credit card!

If you have let others know about this event that may not be on our mailing list, please forward this email with the location change to them.
