    Chad Bohne has stepped down from the Vice President's position and Claire Oxley has agreed to be appointed to the position in his place.  We thank Chad for his contributions and welcome Claire in her new role.

    ADA past president, past USDF Region 9 Director, Region 9 Horseperson of the Year, USEF "r" Dressage judge, rider, breeder, rancher, quilter and avid fisherwoman, Kat Kyle passed away on December 9th.  If you knew Kat you know what a wonderful person she was and the time she dedicated to dressage in our Region.  I remember spending afternoons at her Bandera ranch putting together and editing the Region 9 omnibus and other projects.  Kat and her late husband, Dick, hosted many ADA events at her ranch as well.   Many of us (myself included) rode down center line towards Kat, and though she did not give points away in her  judging, she was always fair with great feedback. 

    Kat is survived by current husband, Scott Smith.  More details to follow with her obituary and memorial services which will be held in the spring.  Follow the funeral home website for updates:

    On July 23rd we  bid farewell to Douglas Christensen, long-time ADA member and horseman. Douglas was a breeder, breed judge and since moving to San Antonio in 1993, has served ADA as president, vice-president and sponsorship chair as well as our show announcer for over 20 years!

    Douglas leaves us for the cooler temperatures of Wisconsin. He will be greatly missed!

    ADA Member, Ryland Flores, has much to be proud about!

    His accomplishments include:

    USDF Rider Performance Award – Training Level.  Must have 4 scores of 60 or higher from 4 different judges and from 4 different rides

    USDF Dressage Seat Equitation Award – Elementary Level. Must have 5 scores of 65 or higher from 3 different judges from 3 different recognized shows

    USEF Interscholastic Athlete: Ryland lettered for 5th grade by competing in 3 shows.  

    National Pony Cup - 2021 Year End Award – 5th Place for Intro Level and 13th Place for Training Level

    The ADA Year End Awards program has been updated to reflect the fact that we only have one recognized show per year.

    1. ADA Recognized show awards now have a waiver of the ADA show requirement due to injury or illness.

    2. We will only require 4 volunteer/participation hours to be eligible.

    Rules and Applications 

    How to Earn Hours:

    • Volunteering at an event/show - Learn More
    • Attending a board meeting - up to 1 hour (visit the Members only page to access zoom link - you must be logged in - your email address is your username. Click Forgot Password to request a new password).
    • Sponsorships/Ads - up to 4 hours ($50 per hour) - Learn More
