“You be the Judge AND Scribe!”

A fun class for all ages!

When: Saturday, August 8, 2026

  10am – 1pm 

Where: Retama Equestrian Center main arena

An opportunity for you to judge and scribe real ridden dressage tests under the guidance of USDF "L" Graduate, Carolyn West!  

Lunch provided!

Cost: $20 for children under 18 yrs

Adult- $30 per ADA member/ $40 for non-members

Have you always wanted to learn how to judge and scribe for a dressage show, but thought the education was too expensive or unatainable? Now is your chance to have fun while learning something new! Dressage Judge Carolyn West will guide us all through the intracacies of judging and scribing in real time with FEI demo riders in a relaxed, fun environment! Lunch is provided (Sandwich, chips, fruit, drink). Bring the whole family!

You do not need to be a dressage rider to learn something from this unique opportunity. We will learn tips and tricks of showing, how to recognize qualities within the gaits, dressage test geometry, and so much more! Participants will actually judge the demo riders, scribe for a judge partner, and learn to score.

Founded in 1981, Alamo Dressage Association (ADA) is a non-profit, charter Group Member Organization of the United States Dressage Federation. Our purpose is to promote dressage interest, knowledge, training and competition. Although concerned primarily with dressage, we welcome any type of horse or rider, regardless of individual aims.
